Salman Khan was supposed to play Godfather in real life to the newly born son of brother Arbaaz and Malaika during the little one's baptizing ceremony. That, however, will not be the case now.

Arbaaz is reported to have decided to get his son Arhaan baptized on the request by wife Malaika, who is partly catholic. The ceremony, to be held in St. Andrew`s Church in Bandra, was supposed to have Malaika's sister Amrita playing godmother and Salman the godfather.

But Father Peter Drego of the said church ruled out the possibility of Salman stepping into the shoes of a Godfather as the ritual and tradition required the man to be catholic. Consequently, Arbaaz has asked his friend and designer Wendell Rodricks to be Godfather to Arhaan.
